Director of Human Resources and Benefits - Mt. Pleasant, TX
Priefert Manufacturing, a cutting-edge steel fabrication and manufacturing organization located in Northeast Texas, is currently seeking an experienced Human Resource Leader for our growing organization.
  • The Director of Human Resources serves as a business partner with leadership to reach organizational goals through effective strategies in accordance with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations. The position provides human resource guidance and training on a wide array of topics; oversees talent acquisition and retention efforts; designs and administrates employee compensation and benefits as well as policies and procedures.
Essential Abilities:
  • A strong foundation in the theory and principles of management and organizational development
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Ability to apply standard human resourcesí practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing areas including, but not limited to, employee relations, Wage and Hour, EEO, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA
  • Ability to apply accurate, effective, and timely human resources support, guidance, and training to the organization
  • Ability to promote collaboration and sharing of value-added information to enhance decision-making and provide real-time solutions to HR issues
  • Ability to develop, direct, and evaluate consistent human resources strategies
  • Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related problems
  • Analyzes and modifies compensation, benefits & performance policies and procedures to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation and recognition programs to foster positive attitudes toward organizational objectives
  • Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations
  • Demonstrates good and independent judgment and decision making
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of 10 years human resource management experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business from an accredited college (or equivalent experience) is preferred
  • SPHR or SHRM -SCP certification a plus
