Rich Skelton has earned quite the reputation with a rope. He started out as a header, like most team ropers did at that time, but became a heeler because he saw greater opportunity there. Rich said there weren't many good heelers when he started out in the sport, so he thought that would be the easiest way to make a rise in the professional ranks.

Rich Skelton is regarded as one of the most consistent and competitive team ropers of all time. This personable champion sets high goals and achieves them. Rich's list of career achievements is truly impressive. He has qualified for the NFR 20 times and his list of career wins include: Ram National Circuit Finals titles, Tour Finale titles, Sand Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, the Lewiston Roundup, Red Bluff, Rodeo Austin, the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo, the Greeley Independence Stampede, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Reno, Rodeo Houston, and countless others. Setting the record for the most consecutive team roping world titles, Rich is an 8 time World Champion Team Roper with over $2 million dollars in earnings to his credit.

Rich and his wife, Rhonda, live in Llano, Texas with their daughter Rainey. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and golf. Priefert is proud to count Rich as one of our outstanding endorsees.
